Driver fatally strikes skateboarder on N Closner Blvd

EDINBURG, TX – A pickup driver fatally collided with a skateboarder on the 800 block of N Closner Blvd Thursday, Valley Central reports.

The driver of a Ford F-250 pickup truck hit Richard Orlando Hernandez, 30, in the northbound center lane of N Closner Blvd at around 10 p.m.

Following the collision, the driver stopped and rendered aid to Hernandez until rescue crews arrived. They pronounced Hernandez dead at the scene of the accident.

The incident is under investigation by Edinburg police.
