ALTON, TX – Officers with the Alton Police Department have reported at least one injury as the result of a collision on South Austin Street Tuesday evening.
The accident occurred at about 7:35 p.m. within the 100 block of South Austin St. near the intersection with West Maine Ave.
Police believe the 19-year-old man behind the wheel of a 2017 Chevrolet made a faulty evasive action at a high rate of speed and collided head-on with a 2005 Pontiac.
The man in the Chevrolet was reportedly injured as a result of the crash. Details regarding the extent of his injuries remain unknown at this time.
