DUI driver charged for manslaughter concerning fatal crash on Ennis Joslin Rd near Niles Dr

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – An allegedly impaired driver has been charged with manslaughter after one of the people injured in a November 19th crash died Tuesday, Caller-Times reports.

Leroy Jasso Jr., 21, was driving south on Ennis Joslin Rd near Niles Dr when he rear-ended a vehicle operated by Jesus Garcia, 27. Garcia and his two passengers were ejected from the car upon impact.

First responders were called to the scene around 8:20 p.m. They transported Garcia and his two passengers to an area hospital. Garcia died at the hospital on Tuesday from injuries sustained in the crash. One of the passengers was seriously injured in the crash, the other suffered minor injuries.

Police initially charged Jasso Jr. with two charges of intoxication manslaughter. one of those charges has been upgraded to manslaughter. Police arrested him, but Jasso Jr. has since bonded out.
