BEXAR COUNTY, TX – Deputies with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office were forced to shut down all lanes on Texas State Highway 16 following a fatal collision Friday morning.
According to the San Antonio Express-News, the accident occurred at about 6:20 a.m. within the 22500 block of Texas 16 near Helotes.
Officials say the crash was between a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler and the driver of the pickup truck died at the scene.
The northbound lanes were closed for several hours following the crash, but have since been reopened.
