Pedestrian killed while attempting to cross U.S. 281 near Wurzbach Parkway

SAN ANTONIO — At around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a man in his 60’s attempted to cross U.S 281 near Wurzbach Parkway and was struck and killed by an oncoming vehicle. The driver was in a 2008 Ford truck headed northbound on the highway. He was reportedly changing lanes when the accident happened, according to San Antonio police. The driver stopped immediately to render aid. Authorities report that he was not intoxicated at the time of the crash, and has been cooperating with the investigation. 

Police have not yet identified the victim. The accident resulted in the shutdown of the lanes between Nakoma Drive and Bitters Road for several hours.
