Fatal rollover crash reported near Meadow Village

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A driver died and a passenger was injured following a rollover crash at I-410 Access Rd and Lakeside Pkwy Thursday, Fox San Antonio reports.

The driver of an SUV had left a party and was driving on I-410  Access Rd when he lost control of his vehicle after hitting a puddle. The SUV struck multiple objects,  including a utility pole and a fire hydrant, before colliding with a metal railing over a drainage culvert.

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, and the passenger, who was wearing a seatbelt, were ejected from the SUV and landed in the culvert.

First responders were called to the crash site around 1:30 a.m. They pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The passenger suffered minor injuries. It is unclear if they were taken to an area hospital following the collision.

According to the police, impairment may have been a factor in the incident.
