Faulty water heater sparks fire at 2-story San Antonio home

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Firefighters responded to a two-story house fire in the Tobin Hill area early Wednesday morning.

According to KSAT, the incident was reported at an unoccupied home within the 700 block of Marshall Street at bout 3 a.m.

Firefighters entered the residence and verified that no one was inside. While they were able to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby houses, the blaze soon engulfed the second floor and eventually the attic.

Investigators believe a faulty water heater sparked the blaze, which caused an estimated $60,000 in damage.
