Hargill man killed in 3-vehilce collision

HARGILL, TX – A 33-year-old man was killed after his vehicle was struck by two other speeding vehicles while stopped on the shoulder near Hargill Saturday morning.

According to KGRV, the accident occurred at about 11 a.m. along FM-409, just east of FM-493.

Investigators say a Dodge Ram pickup and a Chevrolet pickup were heading west of FM-490 at a high rate of speed when the Chevrolet, which as traveling on the wrong side of the roadway, lost control.

The Chevrolet then collided with a Dodge Dakota that was stalled on the side of the roadway. The Dakota then rolled into a ditch nearby, killing 33-year-old passenger Juan Flores.

The Dodge Ram then collided with the Chevrolet. The driver in the Ram attempted to flee on foot but was caught in a nearby neighborhood. The driver in the Chevrolet also attempted to flee but was brought back by family members.

The identities of those two drivers are being withheld at this time.
