Hit-and-run driver fatally collides with another vehicle on I-37

SAN ANTONIO, TX – According to KENS 5, a hit-and-run driver fatally struck another vehicle on the 15000 block of I-37 Saturday.

A pickup truck driver struck the front right side of a Chevrolet Blazer as it was trying to merge into their lane at around 3:35 p.m.

The collision forced the 59-year-old driver of the Blazer off the road. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and it flipped over, ejecting the driver and his 5-year-old passenger from the vehicle.

First responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene of the accident and transported the five-year-old to an area hospital in unknown conditon.

Following the crash, the pickup truck driver did not stop.

Authorities will charge the suspect with failure to stop and render aid once they are located.
