Hit-and-run driver strikes child on Avant Ave

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A hit-and-run driver struck and injured a child on the 1300 block of Avant Ave Saturday, according to KSAT.

The driver hit the victim, a five-year-old boy, as he chased after his father, who was heading back to their home after ordering ice cream from an ice cream truck at around 6:15 p.m.

Following the collision, the driver fled the area before first responders arrived at the scene of the accident.

The boy’s mother transported him to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Officers will charge the driver with failure to stop and render aid once they are located.
