Hit-and-run driver strikes, kills pedestrian on FM 1889 north of Robstown

ROBSTOWN, TX –  A driver fled the area after striking and killing a woman on FM 1889 north of Robstown Friday, KIII TV reports.

The driver of an older model Chevy with a missing right headlight struck Tammy Jo Lara, 40, as she was walking along the road at around 8:45 p.m. A piece of the Chevy’s bumper was found at the scene.

Police urge anyone with information concerning the collision to contact them immediately.
