Honda causes crash with uninsured driver

SAN BENITO, TX – A red 2002 Honda hit an uninsured driver on Sunday afternoon while leaving a private driveway.

The 28-year-old Honda driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic while exiting a private driveway near the intersection of South Reagan Street and East Powers Street. Around 12:54 on May 10, the Honda crashed into a 33-year-old man driving a blue 2008 Nissan, an officer from the San Benito Police Department reports.

The vehicles sustained moderate damage when the front left corner of the Honda crashed into the Nissan’s front bumper. Neither vehicle required a tow truck to assist after the incident.

Both drivers were uninjured in the crash.

The police determined the Honda was at-fault in the accident and the driver was charged with failure to yield right of way. The Nissan’s driver was also charged in the accident because the driver could not show proof of car insurance.
