LEON VALLEY, TX – A police officer in Leon Valley was sent to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle involved in a traffic stop early Monday morning.
According to KSAT, the incident occurred when the officer attempted a traffic stop near the intersection of Peach Tree Street and Huebner Road at about 3:00 a.m.
Officers at the scene believe the individual was driving while under the influence. He refused to cooperate then attempted to speed away, striking one officer in the process. Another officer shot the driver causing him to come to a stop.
Both the officer and the suspect were rushed to a local hospital where they remain in stable condition.
