Man hospitalized following high-speed wreck downtown

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A man was hospitalized in critical condition following an accident at the intersection of Brazos Street and Guadalupe Street, KSAT reports.

The victim was speeding on Brazos Street in a Lexus IS 250 when he ran a red light and hit a woman in a Nissan Rogue.

The man in the Lexus spun into a light pole and knocked it down. The driver then became trapped in his vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The 50-year-old woman in the Nissan was also taken to the hospital but did not have any serious injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate and have not ruled out charges against the man in the Lexus.
