Man in custody after striking woman, crashing her vehicle in McAllen

MCALLEN, TX – Officials with the McAllen Police Department have one man in custody after he hit a woman, crashed her vehicle, then refused to let paramedics treat her at the scene last Tuesday.

According to KURV, the incident happened on West Uvalde Avenue when Jesus Espinoza Jr. crashed a woman’s vehicle near Escadon Park.

Police say Espinoza had both alcohol and Xanax in his system when the crash occurred. Officers were forced to subdue the man while EMS assisted the woman who suffered a broken leg in the crash.

Information regarding the identity of the woman involved or the charges Espanoza Jr. will face has not yet been released.
