Man in serious condition after I-35 pedestrian accident

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A San Antonio man was rushed to a local hospital in serious condition after being struck by a van on an I-35 access road Thursday morning.

According to KSAT, the accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. in the northbound access road close to Zarzamora Street south of downtown.

Police say the victim was wearing dark clothing when he was hit by a 65-year-old woman who was unable to swerve out of the way in time. The van carried the man for nearly 50 yards before the woman was able to stop.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition. No charges have been filed against the driver involved in the crash as of Thursday evening.
