30-year-old man struck, killed while attempting to cross I-37

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a fatal pedestrian collision in Patricio County last Friday night.

According to KIII, the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of I-37 when 30-year-old Israel Perez Junior struck a guardrail and careened off the roadway. He then got out of his vehicle and began to walk along with a dark portion of the roadway when he was struck by an oncoming Chevy Tahoe.

Perez was rushed to Spohn Shoreline Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
