Man killed when semi hits stalled van in Laredo

LAREDO, TX – A San Antonio man was killed last night when his stalled-out van was struck by a semi-truck on I-35 in Laredo, KSAT reports.

Rodolfo Puente Rivera, 36, was headed north at about 9 p.m. Wednesday when his white Econoline stalled out in the middled lane of the highway. A semi truck plowed into the panel van from behind, causing it to carom into the median.

Emergency responders rushed Rivera to a hospital in Laredo, where he died.

Police do not believe the truck driver was intoxicated. Further investigations are ongoing.
