Multiple injuries reported after south Corpus Christi car accident

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Two elderly people were injured as a direct result of a head-on collision in Corpus Christi Wednesday morning.

The incident was reported within the 5200 block of South Staples Street just north of the interaction with Williams Drive at about 11:21 a.m.

Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department believe the 82-year-old female driver of a 2014 Ford failed to yield the right of way while coming out of a parking lot and collided head-on with a 2001 Toyota.

Both the woman responsible for the crash and her 71-year-old female passenger were injured. No information regarding the severity of their injuries is available at this time.

The 20-year-old man in the Toyota was uninjured in the crash.
