Officer fatally strikes pedestrian on W Commerce St

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A police officer heading to a call fatally collided with a pedestrian on the 6100 block of W Commerce St Saturday, according to KENS 5.

The officer struck Feliciano Lionel Jimenez, 64, around 8:30 p.m. The officer stopped and rendered aid to the victim until EMS crews arrived. They pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation into the incident says the crash was caused because Jimenez “did not yield the right-of-way to vehicular traffic.”
