Pedestrian causes crash on Airline Road

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – A Hummer crashed into and injured a pedestrian who was crossing the street on Friday afternoon.

A 15-year-old boy walked across Airline Road near Meadowvista Drive at 1:16 p.m. on May 8. A 21-year-old woman driving a black 2008 Hummer hit the pedestrian as he was on the road. An officer from the Corpus Christi Police Department reports that the boy did not cross the street at a crosswalk, and he did not yield to the oncoming car.

The pedestrian sustained minimal injuries from the accident.

The driver remained on the scene after the accident to assist the pedestrian. Her Hummer sustained minimal front-end damage where it struck the boy.

Officials stated that the 15-year-old boy will be held responsible for the accident because he crossed the road at an unsafe time.
