Pedestrian hit after driver says brakes failed

SAN ANTONIO, TX – According to Fox San Antonio, a pedestrian was hit by a car after the driver said the car’s brakes failed.

The accident took place last night at the intersection of Villaret Boulevard and Poteet Jourdanton Freeway at about 10:30 p.m.

The driver said that as they came to a red light at the intersection they tried to stop but the brakes did not respond properly, causing the car to hit a man in the crosswalk.

The driver as well as witnesses rendered aid until the EMS arrived. Police say the driver won’t face any charges.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
