Pedestrian killed in late-night collision with truck

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 53-year-old woman was killed on Sunday night after being hit by a truck on the Northeast side of San Antonio. According to KSAT, the woman was pushing a shopping cart on the 1750 block of Austin Highway when she was struck by an eastbound 1996 black Ford Ranger pickup truck.

According to San Antonio Police, the driver of the pickup said that the roads were dark, and he was unable to see the woman in the roadway. The driver stopped and attempted to render aid before responders from the San Antonio Police Department, EMS, and the San Antonio Fire Department arrived at around 10:30 p.m. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of at the accident.
