Pedestrian killed while running on East Side highway

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A pedestrian was struck and killed while running on a busy highway east of San Antonio late Wednesday evening.

According to KSAT, the pedestrian was running in the main lanes of travel along I-35 near AT&T Center Parkway when they were hit around 7:45 p.m. The unidentified individual was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the vehicle involved then swerved across the roadway and struck a guardrail before coming to rest along the access road. They were transported to the hospital with a broken arm.

Investigators are working to find out why the pedestrian was running on the main highway at the time of the crash.

No charges are expected to be filed against the driver involved at this time.
