Pedestrian struck, killed while crossing busy San Antonio highway

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A San Antonio man was killed after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a highway on the Southwest Side Monday.

According to KSAT, the accident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. along Loop 410 near Old Persall Road as 27-year-old Jon Isaac Lopez ran into the northbound lanes of the highway.

Lopez was struck by a 2020 Buick Enclave and pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. Police believe he was crossing the busy roadway in an attempt to get to a restaurant on the other side.

The driver involved in the crash stopped to render aid to the man and is cooperating with the investigation.
