Police respond to single-vehicle crash on Uvalde Ave.

MCALLEN, TX – Officers with the McAllen Police Department responded to a single-vehicle collision near Bentsen Elementary School last Wednesday afternoon.

The incident was reported just after 1:30 p.m. within the 4900 block of Uvalde Avenue just east of the intersection with Taylor Road.

Police say the accident was caused by a domestic animal on the roadway. The 51-year-old male driver of a 2020 Mercedes swerved to avoid striking the animal and crashed. Fortunately, he was uninjured.

It is unclear whether the driver struck the animal.
