Police vehicle catches fire, damages nearby cars

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A Bexar County sheriff’s deputy vehicle went up in flames at a traffic stop on Wednesday morning, KSAT reports.

The incident occurred at a routine traffic stop around 4 a.m. in Northwest Bexar County. The deputy had left the vehicle to speak to a driver who had been pulled over when his SUV became engulfed in flames.

The fire consumed the whole SUV, leaving only a burned out shell and also damaged two nearby vehicles.

Officers believe the blaze was cause by a set of flares in the trunk of the vehicle. No one was injured in the incident.
