Rear-end collision involving child reported on Airline Rd.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Investigators with the Corpus Christi Police Department have reported a rear-end collision along Airline Road last Thursday evening.

The incident was reported at about 6:45 p.m. within the 1100 block of Airline Rd. near the intersection with Kimbrough Drive.

Investigators at the scene say the accident occurred when the 27-year-old female driver behind the wheel of a 2011 Ford was traveling at a high rate of speed while approaching slowed traffic and struck the rear of a 2008 Jeep carrying a 34-year-old woman and 6-year-old child.

Officials have not reported any significant injuries as a direct result of the collision at this time.
