Rear-end collision reported in downtown McAllen

MCALLEN, TX – Officers with the South Texas College Police Department responded to a rear-end collision near a major intersection in downtown McAllen Monday morning.

The collision was reported shortly before noon at the intersection of U.S. Business Route 83 and SH-336.

Officers at the scene say the driver of a 2014 Nissan failed to control his speed before colliding with the rear of a 2013 Hyundai.

The driver of the Hyundai left the scene before authorities arrived. No injuries were reported immediately following the crash.
