Residents evacuated following North San Antonio apartment fire

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Residents were forced out of their homes after an appliance sparked a fire in a San Antonio apartment building Wednesday morning.

According to KSAT, the blaze broke out shortly before 10 a.m. at the Joseph Apartments.

Firefighters say a maintenance worker was assisting a resident with their faulty oven when a fire sparked and spread up the wall and into the subfloor.

Fortunately, emergency crews were able to extinguish the blaze before anyone sustained significant injuries. However, a few apartments sustained water and drywall damages as a result.
