San Antonio fire completely destroys northwest side home

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials with the San Antonio Fire Department responded to a massive house fire on the northwest side in the early morning hours Sunday morning.

According to KENS, reports of a fire at a residence near the intersection of Prue Road and Shady Elms at about 6:30 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found the home completely engulfed in flames.

Emergency crews jumped into action making sure all occupants inside the home were able to escape safely before quickly extinguishing the blaze.

Officials say a LifeAlert monitor on the woman living in the home is what prompted the fast response from emergency crews.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. However, the home is being considered a total loss.
