(WILLACY COUNTY, FEBRUARY 2020) — One woman was killed and three children were hospitalized following an accident in Willacy County on Thursday morning.
According to authorities, 30-year-old Sandra Patricia Diaz was driving her Mercury Mountaineer on FM 1420 when she suddenly lost control of her vehicle. Her car then went airborne, crashing into a nearby utility pole.
Diaz was pronounced dead at the scene. Three children who were in the vehicle with Diaz were transported to Valley Baptist Hospital. One of the injured children is reported to be in critical condition.
