SAPD respond to over 100 collisions due to poor road conditions Sunday

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officers with the San Antonio Police Department responded to a high number of car accidents due to dangerous road conditions Sunday afternoon.

According to KSAT, police received over 100 reports of weather-related car accidents in the area between Sunday afternoon and early Monday morning.

Police were forced to shut down several highways and other high-traffic roads to deal with major collisions and prevent further incidents from occurring.

Most roadways have since been reopened to drivers. However, police are advising motorists to avoid travel if any all possible as long as icy conditions persist.
