RIO GRANDE VALLEY, TX – According to tweets from the Texas Department of Public Safety and Texas Department of Transportation, several car accidents are under investigation following heavy winds and rain in the area.

According to the DPS tweet, officials are looking into several accidents on US-77 between Raymondville and Kingsville that have been attributed to the recent storm.
Drivers were urged to forego non-essential travel and to avoid flooded areas.
Further information on the crashes has not yet been released.
