South Corpus Christi collision leaves 2 women injured

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Two women were reportedly injured as the result of an early Saturday morning car accident in south Corpus Christi.

According to KRIS, the accident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. within the 5100 block of South Staples Street, when a brown pickup truck ran a red light at SH-358.

The pickup then struck a blue car that was stopped at the intersection. Two women in the pickup, both in their 20s, were pinned inside the vehicle. They were extricated and transported to a nearby hospital with potentially life-threatening injruies.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
