Suspect crashes head-on into cruiser after shooting at deputies

SAN ANTONIO, TX – One man was arrested after he allegedly fired shots at Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputies then colliding head-on with a cruiser while attempting to flee Tuesday.

According to Fox San Antonio, the incident occurred at about 4 p.m. when deputies were responding to a prior collision along FM-78 near Walzem Road.

Witnesses say the suspect pulled up to the scene of the crash and fired several shots into the ground. He then did a U-turn and crashed head-on into the deputy’s vehicle. He then attempted to flee on foot but was caught moments later.

One deputy was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. The suspect has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
