Teen driver strikes 2 vehicles, crashes into San Antonio River

SAN ANTONIO, TX – An unlicensed teen driver crashed a car into several parked vehicles before tumbling into the San Antonio River yesterday morning, KSAT reports.

The 17-year-old boy had two female passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Police say the teen was speeding on Mission Parkway at about 10:30 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, which hit a parked work truck, careened into a second parked vehicle, and then crashed into the river close to the Espada Dam. They noted the incident happened when all three occupants should have been in school.

The three teenagers were able to get out of the car unhurt, at which point a second teenage male picked up the two girls in a separate vehicle. The driver of the first vehicle was left to face the police alone. He is likely to be charged with several criminal acts, including driving without a license and reckless driving.
