Trucking collision reported on State Highway 48

BROWNSVILLE, TX – Officers with the Brownsville Police Department responded to an auto vs. semi-truck collision along State Highway 48 late last Friday afternoon.

The accident happened within the 5300 block of SH-48 near the intersection with Portway Street shortly after 4 p.m.

Investigators believe the 30-year-old female driver of a 2011 Mazda attempted to change lanes when it was unsafe to do so and collided with the front driver’s side of a 2011 International tractor-trailer.

The woman and 29-year-old male occupant of the truck were both uninjured as a result of the collision.
