Uninsured driver causes collision on US 281

PHARR, TX – On Saturday afternoon, an uninsured driver in a Toyota rear-ended another vehicle while speeding on US Highway 281.

An officer from the Pharr Police Department reports that a 19-year-old woman in a silver 2000 Toyota collided with a blue 2009 Dodge at 12:51 p.m. on May 9. The accident occurred on Highway 281 near East Polk Avenue, while the Toyota was speeding on the highway.

The front end of the Toyota hit the Dodge’s back bumper, causing minimal damage to both vehicles.

The police report that the drivers and the passengers in both vehicles sustained no injuries in the accident.

Officials determined that the Toyota’s driver was at fault for the accident. The woman was charged with failure to control speed as well as driving without insurance.
