Update: Authorities name victim of fatal crash on I-10 near De Zavala Rd

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials have released the identity of the victim who died following a collision between a sedan and a semi-truck on the 11900 block of I-10 Wednesday.

According to KSAT, the driver of a semi-truck carrying gravel was heading north on I-10 when their tire blew out and caused the truck to collide with a Toyota Corolla operated by Johnny Rodriguez Jr., 55. The collision sent Rodriguez into a concrete barrier and a metal pillar before it caught on fire.

First responders transported Rodriguez to an area hospital, where he later died.
