Update: Driver who fled scene of fatal hit-and-run did so on foot

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The motorist who fatally struck a motorcyclist on the south side this weekend fled the scene on foot, KSAT now reports.

This updates our earlier story on the incident.

Police say that the fatal collision happened in the 5800 block of the southbound I-35 access road at Southcross Boulevard at 2:08 a.m. yesterday morning. A Honda Accord ran a red light and was T-boned in the intersection by a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle, the rider of which was thrown from the bike.

EMS took the injured motorcyclist to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he died. He has been identified only as a 30-year-old man at this time.

The Honda’s driver fled the scene on foot, and is currently being sought by police.
