Update: Emergency crews rescue woman who crashed into the Medina River

SAN ANTONIO, TX – According to KWTX, a firefighter dive team extricated a woman from her vehicle after crashing into the Medina River Saturday.

The 29-year-old Hispanic woman plowed through a metal barrier and landed in the river around 3 a.m. First responders were called to the scene around 11 a.m. by Tony Luna and his family, who discovered tire tracks leading to the river.

Police believe a combination of speed and slick roads likely caused the wreck.
