SAN ANTONIO, TX – The family of Gregory Ivan Jackson II reminisced about their son after he was hit by a car and killed last Thursday.
On Monday, May 18, Gregory Jackson Senior told KSAT 12 that his son was an outgoing person and the life of the party. He explained that his son had vibrant energy and could always make people laugh. After he heard the news that his son had died, Jackson Senior stated that it felt like time had stopped.
Gregory Ivan Jackson II was walking in a poorly light section of Highway 181 at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 14. He was hit by a car driving on the road and, despite assistance from paramedics, he died on the scene of the accident.
The family believes that Jackson may have been walking to visit his aunt, who lives in the area.
The driver that hit and killed Jackson remained on the scene to help and cooperated with the police during their investigation. Jackson Senior stated that he was not angry with the driver who killed his son. However, he hopes that this tragedy will prompt the city to improve lighting in the area.
