Update: Officials ID victim of fatal crash at 5 Mile Rd and Stewart Blvd

ALTON, TX – Authorities have identified the two victims of a fatal two-vehicle collision at 5 Mile Rd and Stewart Blvd on Friday, according to KRGV.

A vehicle occupied by Christopher Moses Garcia, 21, and Karen Espino, 21, was stopped at a stoplight when they were rear-ended by the driver of a Ford F-150 around 1:48 p.m.

First responders pronounced the occupants of the car died at the scene. They transported the F-150 driver to an area hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by Alton police and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
