CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Police identified the pedestrian who was killed in the crash on South Padre Island Drive early Monday morning.

According to KRIS 6, Alexander Alvarado, 26, was attempting to cross South Padre Island Drive near Carroll Lane at around 3 a.m., when he was hit by a vehicle. He died from blunt force trauma.
It is unclear why Alvarado was crossing the road. Police report the driver will not face charges.
