Victim identified in fatal pedestrian accident near Loop 410

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials with the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s office have identified the man killed after being struck by a suspected drunk driver while under a Loop 410 bridge last Thursday.

According to KSAT, 64-year-old Michael William King, a homeless man, was struck while he was sleeping under the Loop 410 overpass at Vance Jackson Road.

The incident occurred when 24-year-old Christian Alexis Cazares was traveling at a high rate of speed when his 2005 Ford Escort jumped up on the curb and struck King.

The victim died a short time later from traumatic injuries sustained in the crash. Cazares was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
