Victim identified in fatal single-vehicle crash on Loop 1604

SAN ANTONIO, TX – The San Antonio Police Department has released the identity of the elderly man killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon.

According to KSAT, the collision occurred at about 1:30 p.m. within the 6200 block of North Loop 1604 near the exit to Green Mountain Road.

Police say 73-year-old Gordon Travis Hill Jr. lost control of his truck causing it to spin out and struck a concrete pillar. Hill was pinned inside his vehicle until emergency crews were able to safely extricate him. Unfortunately, he was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.

It is still unclear what may have lead up to the collision.
