WESLACO, TX – Officers with the Weslaco Police Department were called to the scene of a head-on collision near Westgate Drive last Friday night.

The incident took place shortly after 6:30 p.m. within the 1100 block of 6th Street near the intersection with Clifford Drive.

Investigators believe the 66-year-old woman behind the wheel of a 2020 Chevrolet failed to yield the right of way while turning left at the stop sign and collided head-on with a 2016 Mitsubishi.

Neither the woman responsible for the crash nor the 38-year-old woman in the second vehicle sustained injuries as a result.
