Woman killed in icy crash in far west San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A woman was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in far west San Antonio on Saturday night, an accident caused in part by icy conditions.

KSAT reports that the woman was driving a black Mazda3 east on Culebra Road when she lost control of the vehicle in the 13000 block and slid into oncoming traffic. A white Ford F-150 t-boned the Mazda, which was subsequently struck by two other vehicles.

Emergency medical services pronounced the woman dead at the scene. They took the Ford’s driver to University Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

This was one of at least three fatal collisions in San Antonio this weekend caused by the generational snowstorms hitting the area.
