Update: Driver linked to fatal accident on Hwy 77 turns himself in

KINGSVILLE, TX – According to My RGV, the police believe the man responsible for a fatal crash on Hwy 77 in late September has turned himself in to the police.

Authorities say that the suspect was behind the wheel of a grey pickup truck that was hauling a trailer northbound Hwy 77 when the trailer became unhitched, crossed the median, and struck a Ford F-150 operated by Jonathan Limas, 46.

The force of the impact sent Limas’s truck through a metal barrier, causing it to roll over and eject him.

The suspect stopped briefly before fleeing the area.

Limas was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police will turn the case over to the Kleberg County DA’s office for review once their investigation has been completed. No arrests have been made concerning the incident at this time.
